I have forgotten about my blog for quite some time. I will try to publish some pictures of the sweaters that I have finished since starting the Nihon Vogue class. Actually I am behind. I have not finished year one and I am already in year two. I seem to like to choose the really thin yarn that takes a gazillion more stitches than the thicker yarn. Oh well.
Today I made some soap that is supposed to smell like pumpkin pie. I think I will give everyone a bar on Thanksgiving.
Sunday I went out to Puyallup and got some fleece from this woman there for only $2/lb for the white and $3/lb for the black, silver and brown fleeces. Such a deal. I also got some mohair. It is a little tangled, so I hope I can use it. I was washing fleece today too, but not the new stuff, the last of the brown I got on e-bay. I found a pattern for a wool picker on e-bay, and I hope that I can get Stuart to make it for me. I do have trouble getting the wool fluffy before the drum carder. This would be so nice to have. But then again, one more thing to add to my stash.

Techno troubles

Well, I got the pictures to stay in but they are in the reverse order I placed them. I also couldn't figure how to write about the picture after it was posted. Oh well.
1. The first picture is of Emily's beautiful sweater start. She had never done a cable before this. I am going to get to help her with some of the techniques I have learned in my class.

2. These are the rather plain socks that I made on my cruise to Alaska.

3. The bottom up round neck sweater is waiting for the first set in sleeves we will do for class.

4. The vest, just plain stockinet stitch.

5. The raglan is getting the arms placed now. We learned a very handy invisible cast off for the ribbing.

My very own first blog

I have been reading blogs for about 2 years now and I decided to jump right in and make one for myself to showcase my knitting. I have been knitting since I was 7 with a lot of projects under my wing. Perhaps this will help me to finish up some of my unfinished projects. Right now I am taking a class from Jean Wong on Nihon Vogue knitting. We have started 3 sweaters and are to be swatching on the 4th. This is a really valuable class and I am learning how to pattern design. It is yet to be seen how successful I am at this. I am excited to see how well these sweaters fit. I haven't really made anything for myself, except for socks which will fit almost any foot. Calvin just made us some popcorn to watch a movie. I'll try to figure out how to post the photos tomorrow. Over and out.
